Abstract

<strong>APPLICABILITY</strong> <br>This NPD applies to NASA Headquarters and all NASA Centers, including Component Facilities, and will be followed by all members of the research teams in all research experiments involving human subjects that are funded or sponsored by NASA or conducted in NASA facilities, aircraft, or spacecraft. <br>All human research conducted under a cooperative or reimbursable arrangement or agreement entered into by NASA and another Government agency, private entity, non-Federal public entity, or foreign entity must also comply with the terms and conditions of this NPD. <br>Research activities, involving the collection or study of existing data, documents, records, pathological or diagnostic specimens, are exempted from this NPD, if these sources are publicly available, or if its information is recorded in such a manner that subjects cannot be identified directly or through identifier links to the subjects.
