description abstractThis standard covers the engineering requirements for electrodeposition of hard chromium on high strength steel substrates and the properties of deposit. Subsequent heat treating techniques needed to insure low hydrogen embrittlement of steel are described.Intended Use: This standard provides guidance on the procedures and processes for low embrittlement chromium electro-deposition for verification of the Air Force repair process on the landing gear of all aircrafts. It is an Air Force unique manufacturing standard that will be used only the Air Force at Hill Air Force Base.
