Preheaters bought in accordance with (IAW) this CID should not be used on systems with operational ether start. Type 1 and type 2 preheaters are recommended for engine displacements of up to 8 liters (L) (488 cubic inches (in1)); Type 3 preheaters are recommended for engine displacements of 9 to 12.5 L (549 to 763 in1).
