description abstract	This document gives the requirements for the manufacture, assembly, and packaging of the Initiator, Cartridge Actuated, JAU-74/A and the verification methods upon which product acceptance will be based.Intended Use: The ballistic gas generated from the Initiator, Cartridge Actuated, JAU-74/A provides initial pressure to the NACES P3I catapult to provide the upward movement of the ejection seat prior to catapult separation and underseat rocket motor ignition. This initiator was designed for military use and has no commercial applications.
