description abstractThis Standard specifies an atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of the vanadium content in iron and steel. The method is applicable to vanadium contents (mass fraction) of 0.005% or over up to and including 1.0 %.It is not, however, applicable to samples with a tungsten content (mass fraction) of 1.0 % or over and/or titanium content (mass fraction) of 0.5 % or over.
NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.
ISO 9647: 1989 Steel and iron-Determination of manganese contentFlame atomic absorption spectrometric method (MOD)
In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
