Abstract

Scope: This Standard specifies micrometer for external measurements, bar-shaped micrometer for internal measurements, micrometer for span measurements of teeth, and micrometer head (hereafter referred to as micrometer, unless otherwise specified) equipped with analogue indication, mechanical or electronic digital indication. NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows. ISO 3611 : 2010 Geometrical product specifications (GPS) - Dimensional measuring equipment: Micrometers for external measurements - Design and metrological characteristics (MOD) In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
