Abstract: Purpose. The purpose of the Microgravity Science Glovebox (MSG) Project Risk Management Plan (RMP) is to define the approach to be taken by the MSG Project for identifying, assessing, mitigating, tracking, and reporting risks to promote the successful accomplishment of the project objectives. Thoughout this document, MSG Project will be used to identify all MSG facility and integration/operations activities. This plan fulfills the requirements of NPR 7120.5B, SSP 50431, and MSFC-PLAN-2958.
This plan addresses the risk management concept, responsibilities, and processess to be used by the MSG Project in risk identification, assessment, mitigation, tracking, and reporting. It covers the development and operation of all elements of the MSG Project, including technical issues, interface relationships, hardware schedules, and resources. The RMP applies to both internal (under direct project control) and external risks (controlled by partners or other non-NASA participants).
