description abstractThis document is identified as MSFC-SPEC-2948, Volume 1, the Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Software Requirements Specification (SRS) for the Utilization Development Capability (UDC). The C&DH SRS for the UDC is being developed in several volumes. Volume 1 is a top-level document and contains requirements and information needed for the overall simulation of the C&DH system. The remaining volumes correspond to the major components of the C&DH system with Volume 2 describing the simulation of the Command and Control (C&C) Multiplexer/Demulitplexer (MDM), Volume 3 the Payload (PL) MDM, Volume 4 the Payload Ethernet Hub/Gateway (PEHG), and Volume 5 the Automated Payload Switch (APS). This specification establishes the operations, design, and development requirements for the International Space Station (ISS) C&DH subsystem simulation model that will execute in the UDC Host Computer System (HCS) to support the ISS Ground Support Personnel (GSP) Training. It was prepared and will be maintained in accordance with the MIL-STD-498, which is a merger of DOD-STD-2167A and DOD-STD-7935A, and defines a set of activities and documentation suitable for the development of the C&DH simulation.
