Lessons Learned - Project Management: Construction of Facilities Project Pitfalls

Organization:
NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
Year: 2004

Abstract: Abstract:
The success of a project is greatly impacted by the visibility and advocacy within the NASA community, stakeholders, customers, and end users. In addition, an ambiguous project scope can lead to well-meaning changes on behalf of the project team which impact the cost, resources, and schedule to such an extent that the completion of the project may no longer be justified. For projects which cannot be clearly defined from the outset, clear communication between the Project Manager (PM) and the project sponsor is critical in order to receive continued support by the Agency.
