description abstractIPC-2546 describes the event message content specific to assembly equipment. This standard shall be used together with the IPC-2541 standard entitled "Generic Requirements for Electronics Manufacturing Shop Floor Equipment Communication (CAMX)", which defines the set of messages and key attributes of the generic equipment class used in electronics manufacturing. The types of processes covered by IPC-2546 include material movement systems like conveyors and buffers, manual placement, automated screen printing, automated adhesive dispensing, automated surface mount placement, automated plated through hole placement, forced convection and infrared reflow ovens, and wave soldering.
