description abstractThis specification covers weldable seamless or welded, 36 percent nickel, iron-base pipe, commercially known as Invar 36 or equal and suitable for service between plus 125°F and minus 454ºF. The material covered by this specification is characterized by having a very low coefficient of thermal expansion.
Classification The pipe shall be of the following types, as specified in the ordering document: (If not specified, either seamless or welded may be furnished).
Type I - Seamless
Type II - WeldedIntended Use: This specification covers 36 percent nickel, iron alloy pipe (Invar 36) intended for use with jacketed piping assemblies in welded liquid-transfer systems, for applications ranging from 125ºF to -454ºF temperatures.
