description abstractThis specification covers a carrier for a ceramic body armor insert to be worn by aircrew personnel. The carrier is part of an aircrew survival system. This is a special purpose Life Support Clothing and Equipment (LSC&E) item. All Government administrative and surveillance procedures applicable to LSC&E item shall be invoked in accordance with the contract or purchase order (see 6.2). Intended Use: The carrier with a ceramic body armor insert is intended to be worn over the chest area to provide protection from small arms fire for aircrew members exposed to survival and recovery procedures.
