description abstractScope: The UV radiometers considered in this document are restricted to those designed for the wavelength range from 200 nm to 400 nm, i.e. in the spectral bands of UV-A (315 nm to 400 nm), UV-B (280 nm to 315 nm) and part of UV-C (200 nm to 280 nm). The radiation to be measured is also restricted to that from artificial UV sources only. Radiometers used for solar UV measurement are excluded since many additional requirements are important due to the special features of the source (the sun) and changing environmental, weather and geometrical conditions often encountered during measurements. There are already other parties such as the World Meteorological Organization dealing with this issue. NOTE 1 Although some UV radiometers work outside of the specific ranges defined above, they can be treated in the same way as discussed in this document. NOTE 2 Spectrally resolving instruments like spectroradiometers are not discussed in this document but will be dealt with in a future CIE Technical Report, currently prepared by CIE TC 2-51.
