Abstract: The initiator, explosive actuated, JAU-29/A converts explosive energy from a shielded mild detonating cord (SMDC) into ballistic gas energy used in the aircrew escape system of the TF-18 and TAV-8B aircraft.Intended Use: The initiator will ultimately be loaded and used in conjunction with other propellant actuated devices in aircrew emergency escape systems. The initiator was designed for use in military aircraft and has no commercial application.
