COLOR AND MARKING OF ARMY MATERIEL
Organization:
ARMY - MI - Aviation & Missile Command
Year: 1997
Abstract: This handbook provides general guidelines for color and marking of Army materiel.
It does not cover finishes, surface preparations, related treatments for preservation and coating, or special requirements specified by Army design activities. Moreover, this handbook does not apply to exterior colors of Army equipment under tactical conditions in active combat theaters of operation where such equipment may be painted Lusterless White No. 37875 in snow areas, or other colors or patterns deemed necessary for camouflage or for compliance with host country requirements.
This handbook consolidates into a single document color and marking provisions for different classes of materiel contained in numerous administrative and standardization documents. This handbook is for guidance only. This handbook cannot be cited as a requirement. If it is, the contractor does not have to comply. Intended Use: This standard is intended to present general guidelines and current practices for color and marking of Army materiel, to provide information otherwise only contained in selected administrative (Non DODISS) publications, and to provide this information conveniently, by commodity and function. The handbook is intended for use during acquisition, and not as a basis for repainting fielded materiel.
