description abstractThe test described in this procedure shall be used to determine the fire resistance of passive fire protection (PFP) materials applied to the exterior of LP-Gas containers.  Purpose. This test is designed to evaluate the fire resistance of passive fire protection (PFP) materials in a torch fire environment created by the rupture of a nearby storage vessel.  This test procedure subjects an insulated steel plate, simulating an LP-Gas storage vessel, to a torch fire exposure for 50 minutes. After 20 minutes of the torch fire exposure, the insulated steel plate is subjected simultaneously to the torch fire exposure and a hose stream for 10 minutes.
