Abstract

Scope: These requirements cover evaluation of dry chemical for physical properties and for fire fighting capabilities intended for Class B hazards for application in extinguishers and extinguishing systems that are outside the scope of current installation standards due to special hazard characteristics. The dry chemical covered by this outline is intended to be applied to extinguish special hazard fires that are outside the scope of current installation standards. The dry chemical may be distributed through fixed piping and nozzles, portable fire extinguishers, or other methods suitable to the Authority Having Jurisdiction. The mass of the dry chemical applied over the area to be protected is to be determined and published.
