This standard describes installation procedures for glass fiber optics lighting systems.
Products and Applications Excluded
This standard does not cover installation of fiber optic conductors and equipment for communications purposes. The two types of systems are different and not interchangeable.
Regulatory and Other Requirements
All recommendations of this publication are intended to conform with the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA standard 70). Installers should always follow the NEC, applicable state and local codes, and manufacturers' instructions when installing and maintaining this equipment.
Only qualified persons familiar with the construction and operation of fiber optic lighting systems should perform the work described in this publication.
