Abstract: Section One covers general considerations on the use of divers, and diving safety and gives a summary of national diving activities and the interface of national diver supervision capabilities. Section Two covers diving breathing gases and interoperability of gas supplies, and standard adaptor set for compression chambers. For more detail see the table of contents on pages xiii-xv.
Purpose
Section One of this publication is designed to provide general guidance on the conduct of diving operations at the Command level. Section Two is designed to enhance the safety and efficiency of NATO diving operations by promoting the interoperability of current diving equipment. It is also intended to ensure that nations work toward commonality of design/performance, logistic support and evaluation procedures for future equipment.
