description abstract | Part I (Sections 1 through 6) contain general information on Qualification Approval, Production, and Surveillance Tests. Procedures are also given for range-standardization firing. Inspection procedures are outlined for consultative purposes only. Procedures for acquisition of proof and inspection material are explained in detail. Part II (Sections 7 through 28) contains the detailed information necessary for the conduct of the various ammunition tests. Characteristics of the five "nominated" national weapons are given. Firing defects and permissible percentages thereof are defined. Detailed procedures are given for each of the individual ammunition tests. The appendices contain visual standards for inspection, certain drawings, examples of report forms, and other supplementary information considered to be useful. The list of test equipment and drawings for equipment referenced in the individual tests are identified by drawing numbers. It is recommended that the nomenclature with applicable drawing numbers be used for procurement and inventory. The material which is to be furnished by the United States will be supplied at cost. | |
