Abstract: This specification covers a 16To 20-pound dry weight capacity automatic combination washerextractor for use aboard submarines.Intended Use: Commercial laundry washer-extractor machines acquired under this specification are intended for submarine service. Type I washer-extractors are for use in applications requiring underwater explosion shock resistance and may also be used in Type II washer-extractor applications. Type II washer-extractors are for use only in applications that do not require underwater explosion shock resistance. Commercial machines offered to the Government may require alteration to meet the specification requirements.
