description abstract	Scope: General All markings that are provided shall be in English. When French or Spanish is provided, the markings shall comply with Section 45. If the device is marked with Transport Canada Approved, the device must be marked in English and French. All required markings shall be clearly reproduced in permanent, waterproof lettering that contrasts with the color of the surface on which it is applied. A device shall not be provided with any marking or literature which modifies or contradicts the intent of the required markings, specified in Section 45. A device shall not have any literature or markings that imply personal protection from impact. A marking shall be included on both sides of a buddy line or the outside of a pocket in which a buddy line is stowed, in letters at least 12 mm (1/2 inch) high,
