description abstractThis publication establishes mandatory procedures for Tasking Authorities (TAs), Delegated Tasking Authorities (DTAs), their subordinate working groups (WGs), Custodians, NATO Bodies2, and anyone involved with producing, maintaining and managing NATO standardization documents.
This publication does not cover the method of work for the preparation, life cycle management and adoption by NATO of Allied communications publications3 (ACPs) and their related NATO supplements, which is done in accordance with reference 1.1.4.2.
This publication is developed under the auspices of the Committee for Standardization (CS) and noted by the North Atlantic Council (NAC).
PURPOSE
The purpose of this directive is to establish procedures for the production, maintenance and management of NATO standardization documents in accordance with NATO regulation

3 ACPs are non-NATO publications, developed by the CCEB (Combined Communications-Electronics Board / Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States of America) and adopted by NATO with NATO supplements to ACPs when necessary, in accordance with reference 1.1.4.2.
