description abstractThis specification establishes the design, performance, and acceptance requirements for the AN/ASC-26 Communications Central hereinafter referred to as ASC-26. The ASC-26 is intended for use in UH-IN Helicopters to provide radio communication between marine task commanders in the helicopters, higher headquarters, and supporting combat units. Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions,) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: Commanding Officer, Naval Air Engineering Center, Systems Engineering and Standardization Department (SESD) Code 93, Lakehurst, NJ 08733, by using the self-addressed Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter. Intended Use: The ASC-26 is intended for use in UH-1N Helicopters. The ASC-26 provides the capability for the Marine Air-Ground Task Commander and his staff and the Ground Combat Element Commander and his staff to maintain contact with subordinate, adjacent, and higher headquarters as well as the Supporting Arms Units and Logistics Support Units.
