description abstractPURPOSE. Provisioning is the process of determining the range and depth of repair parts that are required to support an end item for an initial period of time. Cataloging is the process of assigning a National Stock Number (NSN) to an item that is repeatedly bought, stocked, stored, issued, and used throughout the Federal Supply System. This Manual establishes provisioning and cataloging requirements, roles and responsibilities, and formally reiterates the Coast Guard's commitment to participate in the Federal Catalog Program (FCP).
