Abstract: This specification covers requirements for power operated spur planetary and planetary geared, heavy duty, drum type winches for use on military combat and tactical transport vehicles. The winches are driven from the vehicle hydraulic system. Intended Use: The winch, mounted on applicable military vehicle, is intended for use in pulling and hoisting heavy loads during recovery operations. Due to the extreme battlefield conditions under which this winch drum must operate (−60 to 125 °F), this item is military unique.
