description abstractAs a generic term, the word "facility" covers buildings, structures, roads, grounds, utility systems, and collateral equipment. "Facility work" may include construction, rehabilitation, modification, repair, and--to some extent--maintenance. The term "facility project" refers to a consolidation of all or any part of the facility work listed. See Attachment 1 for more comprehensive definitions of these and related terms.
PURPOSE. To establish policy and procedure for submitting, reviewing, and approving facility work.
APPLICABILITY. This directive applies to all Government-owned facilities under the jurisdiction of JSC. This includes the JSC-Main Site; JSC-Ellington Field; the White Sands Test Facility (WSTF), NM; the NASA Industrial Plan (NIP), Downey, CA; and the NASA site at Air Force Plant (AFP) 42, Palmdale, CA.
