WORLD VECTOR SHORELINE (WVSPLUS)

Abstract: This product specification defines the requirements for the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) World Vector Shoreline (WVSPLUS®)* product. The WVSPLUS is a vector-based digital product that portrays shorelines, maritime boundaries, international boundaries, country areas and selected depth information. Intended Use: The WVSPLUS database is intended for use as general purpose data that can support GIS applications. The design of the data supports mission planning and military command and control systems. It may also be used as a background display for other geographic data. The WVSPLUS is intended for use by military and civilian branches of the government. Analytical use of WVSPLUS data at a scale greater than 1:250, 000 is not recommended.
