This specification covers the preparation and specific style and format requirements for technical manuals, checklists, and source data packages to be used for aircraft and multiple type weapon delivery.  In addition to paper delivery, this specification also provides for digital delivery of data by using document type definitions (DTD).  These DTDs are contained in appendixes A through J.  &lt;br&gt;This document prescribes specific style and format requirements for preparation of manuals and checklists that will provide aircrews with those procedures required for planning and executing of a nonnuclear weapon delivery mission involving bombs, rockets, guns, missiles, spray tanks, dispenser munitions, and training or special purpose devices related to weapon delivery.  &lt;br&gt;This document also covers the preparation requirements for manuals and checklists used in the delivery of nuclear bombs from strategic bomber aircraft and tactical aircraft, and air-to-surface missiles from strategic bomber aircraft.    &lt;strong&gt;&lt;b&gt;Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to:  Det 2 HQ ESC/AV-2, 4027 Col Glenn Hwy, Suite 300, Dayton OH, 45431-1672 by using the Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;  &lt;br&gt;The level of detail contained in this performance specification is necessary to comply with the requirements of the Joint Computer-aided Acquisition and Logistics Support (JCALS) system.  &lt;br&gt;The markup tags described herein are based on rules outlined in MIL-PRF-28801 and the Information Processing Text and office Systems - Standardized General Markup Language (SGML) document, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 8879, as incorporated in Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) Pub 152. This specification prescribes the requirements for an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual Data Base (IETMDB) to be constructed by a weapon-system contractor for the purpose of creating Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM). These requirements cover the specification for the IETMDB and are intended to apply to one or both of two modes as specified in a contract: (1) the interchange format for the data base to be delivered to the Government; and/or (2) the structure and the naming of the elements of the data base created and maintained by the contractor for purposes of creating IETMs which are in turn delivered to the Government. &lt;br&gt;&lt;u&gt;Paragraphs with limited applicability&lt;/u&gt;. This specification contains paragraphs and specific requirements which may not be applicable to all Services. Such paragraphs or requirements are prefixed to indicate the Services to which the limited applicability pertains: (A) for Army; (N) for Navy; (M) for Marines; and (F) for Air Force. &lt;b&gt;&lt;u&gt;Intended Use:&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/b&gt; An IETMDB is the source data for the preparation of IETMs. IETMs prepared in accordance with this specification are intended for use in the installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and logistics support of equipment/systems or for the accomplishment of the assigned mission of users. &lt;br&gt;
