| description abstract | This specification sets forth content requirements for the preparation of technical manuals (TMs) covering description, operation, maintenance, installation, and parts support for Combat System Technical Operations Manuals (CSTOMs); Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Equipment Manuals; Electronic [including Service Test Electronic, Experimental Electronic, and Interior Communications (IC)] System and Equipment Manuals; and Weapon Systems and Weapon Equipment Manuals. The requirements are applicable for the output of paper or for the display of page-oriented, linear, and non-linear TMs on an Electronic Display System (EDS). Intended Use: The TMs prepared to this specification are intended to be used for installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and parts support of CSTOMs, HM&E systems and equipment, electronic, service test electronic, experimental electronic and interior communications systems and equipment, and weapon systems and equipment. The TMs should be used as a training document in the classroom and as a source of on-the-job training. | |
