| description abstract | PURPOSE This Instruction: Implements the latest revision to Reference (a). Establishes policy and assigns responsibilities under the authorities of References (b) and (c). APPLICABILITY This Instruction: Applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments, the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, and all other organizational entities within the Department of Defense (herein after referred to collectively as the "DoD Components"). Applies to the following organizations whose current, retired, or separated employees may qualify as law enforcement officers for the purposes of Reference (a) on or after the date the organizations received statutory arrest authority: the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (Reference (d)); and the National Security Agency (Reference (e)). | |
