Abstract: This specification covers thermal insulation block for use on machinery and equipment at surface temperatures up to the limits for the classes specified.Intended Use: The insulation covered by this specification is intended for use for thermal insulation of shipboard machinery and equipment operating to a 1,200 °F surface temperature for Class 2 and to a 1,700 °F for Class 3. Class 3 is recommended for use on boilers.
