TIA TIA-1121.002
Medium Access Control for Ultra Mobile Broadband (UMB) Air Interface Specification
Organization:
TIA - Telecommunications Industry Association
Year: 2007
Abstract: GENERAL
Overview
This volume defines the MAC layer of the Ultra Mobile Broadband air interface standard. This standard defines the normative behavior of the MAC layer by describing the precise processing rules for each of the MAC layer entities. This standard also describes the overall structure of the MAC layer, defines the entity and service model that is used within this standard, and specifies the entities that comprise the MAC layer. This volume consists of the following sections:
1. Basic Packet Consolidation Protocol. This protocol provides the procedures and messages to carry multiple upper layer payloads in one MAC Layer packet.
2. Basic Superframe Preamble MAC Protocol. This section provides the procedures and messages for the operation of the channels transmitted on the superframe preamble.
3. Basic Access Channel MAC Protocol. This section provides the procedures and messages for the operation of the reverse access channel.
4. Basic Forward Link Control Segment MAC Protocol. This section provides the procedures and messages for the operation of the channels transmitted on the forward link control segment.
5. Basic Forward Traffic Channel MAC Protocol. This section provides the procedures and messages for the operation of the forward data channel.
6. Basic Reverse Control Channel MAC Protocol. This section provides the procedures and messages for the operation of all the reverse link control channels except the reverse access channel.
7. Basic Reverse Traffic Channel MAC Protocol. This section provides the procedures and messages for the operation of the reverse data channels.
