description abstract	*Description* This specification defines the qualification program for surface mount tantalum and niobium capacitors. Table 2 lists the tests required. Specification sheets can be added, as required, to define specific products or to cover unique/specific requirements. This document does not relieve the suppliers of their responsibility to their own companies' internal qualification programs. *Preconditioning* Preconditioning is included before qualification testing to simulate exposure to the thermal and cleaning environments of the assembly process.
