ARMOR PLATE, ALUMINUM ALLOY, 7039

Abstract: This specification covers 7039 wrought aluminum alloy armor plate. The nominal thickness of armor plate covered by this specification is 1/2 inch to 4 inches, inclusive (see 3.7 and 6.2). Intended Use: The aluminum alloy armor covered by this specification is military unique. This material has minimum ballistic limit protection requirements as specified in tables A-I through A-VI. The material will be used in military vehicles to protect the operator and passengers against small arms fire and shrapnel.
