description abstractThis specification covers the requirements for unpigmented, thermosetting, room temperature curing resin with associate curing agents to be used for convolutely, or spirally wound fibrous glass reinforced coatings on steel, aluminum and gun metal for corrosion protection. Intended Use: The resin systems covered by this specification are intended for use in convolutely or spirally-wound glass reinforced coatings on metals for protection against the corrosive effects of salt water. In some applications the resin may be used without glass reinforcement. The resins may be used for coating metals in such applications as the following:
Type I (steel) - Propeller shafting. Type II (aluminum) - Aluminum masts. Type III (gun metal) - Gun metal sleeves in high pressure propeller shaft seals.
