description abstractThis specification covers circle cutters with a self-centering device, capable of accurately cutting holes in various materials (see 3.3.1) and in very thin metals to a center punched mark without the use of a pilot hole.
Circle cutters and sets of cutters shall be of the following types and sets as specified (see 6.2):
    Type I - Circle cutters, self-centering      Type II - Sets        Set 1 - 3/16 through 21/32       Set 2 - 11/16 through 1-5/32       Set 3 - 1-3/16 through 1-19/32       Set 4 - 1-⅝ through 2-1/32


Intended Use: Circle cutters are intended to locate and cut holes accurately to center punched layout marks in thin metals and other materials. The cutters may be held in machine tools or driven by portable powered drills and are particularly adapted to the thin materials common in aircraft fabrication.
