Abstract

The scope of this document is to define the performance, design, fabrication, and investigation-unique safety requirements for the system that will be developed to perform the Lab-On-a-Chip Application Development Portable Test System (LOCAD PTS) investigation aboard the International Space Station (ISS). <br>This document includes interface and safety requirements for LOCAD PTS, by direct reference to the following documents: <br>1) Payload Integration Agreement (PIA) for LOCAD PTS, SSP-57069 <br>2) LOCAD PTS Phase 0/I/II Ground Safety Data Package, LOCAD-PTS-SDP-30002 <br>3) LOCAD PTS Phase 0/I/II Flight Safety Data Package, LOCAD-PTS-SDP--30001 <br><u>In-Scope Requirements.</u> <br>The only requirements within the scope of this document's control for verification are those requirements that are allocated to the LOCAD PTS hardware or crew procedures. The intent of this document is to identify the system requirements that pertain to the LOCAD PTS end items (refer to section 1.3). <br><u>Out-of-Scope Requirements</u>. <br>The requirements allocated to the ISS are out-of-scope of this document's control. This document does not purport to levy any requirements onto the ISS. Rather, this document identifies requirements that the LOCAD PTS Project Team must negotiate with the ISS for possible inclusion in the LOCAD PTS Payload Integration Agreement.
