| description abstract | INTRODUCTION Intent The purpose of this procedure is to measure the forces or torques that are required to fully couple or uncouple a connector set. Description The connector set components are held in a fixture so that a controlled coupling force or torque can be applied. The force or torque is measured during the entire coupling and/or uncoupling cycle. The procedure is applicable to either twist type or push-pull type coupling mechanisms. Alternative Procedures This test procedure is an alternative to the measurement procedure, titled Engagement and Separation Force of IEC 874-1, Third Edition. | |
