description abstractPURPOSE. To define JSC policy and procedures for controlling the solicited/unsolicited property submissions of non-Government entities while such property or submission is in JSC custody.
APPLICABILITY. a. This Instruction applies to solicited/unsolicited property submissions such as new or unique property, hardware, software, or both which are introduced onto JSC premises for evaluation, demonstration, or test, by non-Government entities (e.g., the representatives of industry or education) and are placed in the temporary custody of JSC. In no event shall the property submission remain on JSC premises for more than 180 days.
b. This Instruction does not apply to:
(1) The private property of non-Government entities which remains in the immediate custody of the owner.
(2) The property of contractors submitted as the result of a contract requirement.
JSC premises in support of industry presentations and which remain in the custody of the industry representatives while on JSC premises.
(4) The solicited/unsolicited advertising material of vendors having nominal value (clearly less than $10) which conspicuously bears the vendor's advertising message and which is widely distributed to potential buyers in the course of conducting business.
(5) The private property of JSC employees.
