Abstract

<strong>FOREWORD</strong> <br>This Manual is issued under authority of <em>DoD Directive 5134.12, "Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness (DUSD(L&MR)),"May 25, 2000</em>. It provides the standard specifications for the Secondary Item Stratification to ensure the uniform portrayal of materiel requirements and assets of individual secondary items at the wholesale and retail levels among all DoD Components. It also is a detailed reference Manual on the development of each stratification matrix, which must be provided to the Office of the Secretary of Defense twice annually by weapon system, budget category, and Inventory Control Point. <br>This Manual applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense (IG, DoD); the Defense Agencies, and the DoD Field Activities (hereafter referred to collectively as "the DoD Components"). This Manual is effective immediately; it is mandatory for use by all the DoD Components.
