| description abstract | FOREWORD This recommended practice is under the jurisdiction of the API Committee on Standardization of Production Equipment and covers the installation of beam-type pumping units and the lubrication of pumping-unit reducers. Purchase specifications for pumping units and pumping-unit reducers are given in API Standard 11E: Specifications for Pumping Units. It is recommended that all manufacturers supply foundation prints, operation, installation, lubrication, and maintenance instructions for each pumping unit sold. These specifically written instructions should be considered as part of API Recommended Practice 11G and supersede any conflicting requirements in this recommended practice. This standard shall become effective on the date printed on the cover but may be used voluntarily from the date of distribution. | |
