description abstract	This specification covers a high-melting hotmelt asphaltic compound for coating the inner walls of metal cases prior to filling with explosives.Intended Use: The high melting, hotmelt asphaltic compound covered by this specification is intended for use as a protective lining for fabricated metal cases in applications where charges of high explosives are poured into the case and require thermal insulation from the elevated temperature environment of a fuel fire. As this compound was developed for use in military ordnance, there is no commercial application.
