Abstract

This specification covers ACB, low voltage, electric power, air circuit breakers with removable construction, their stationary component (cradle), and attachments for shipboard use. <b><u>Intended Use:</u></b> Circuit breakers and their attachments covered by this specification are intended for use in Naval shipboard applications, as a device which: a. Maintains a closed circuit when closed. b. Maintains an open circuit when open. c. Interrupts the circuit under normal operation (current not in excess of the rated continuous current of the circuit breaker) and under abnormal conditions (currents in excess of the rated continuous current of the circuit breaker, such as a short circuit) in accordance with the intended operation of the trip devices. In application, circuit breakers are selected whose rated short-circuit current is as great or greater than the maximum current which they may be called upon to interrupt.) <br>
