description abstractPurpose.
The purpose of the experiment is (i) to test the performance of an automatically moving baffle in microgravity and (ii) to determine the behavior and possible advantages of liquid encapsulation in microgravity conditions. The scientific data to be obtained from the experiment are visualization of the melt/encapsulant behavior in microgravity and the growth of crystals under dewetting conditions. The material chosen for the investigation is doped Indium Antimonide (InSb), which has a melting point of approximately 525°C.
