description abstract	This specification contains requirements and provides quality assurance provisions for the Fin Assembly M158 for use on 81MM Mortar Ammunition. Intended Use: The components covered by this specification are intended for use on the mortar, 81MM, Illuminating, M301A3. This la a pressure vessel application. The contractor may find it cost effective to perform additional non-destructive inspections (such as ultrasonic inspection) of the bar stock prior to machining and hydrostatic testing. Costs incurred as the result of additional tests shall not be reimbursed by the Government. In no case shall the performance of additional tests relieve the contractor from complying with any of the regular test requirements contained in this specification.
