| description abstract | Description of Driving Event: The shear mode resonant dampening (SMRD) lab is utilized to support the process of applying SMRD material to printed circuit boards. Problems were encountered with one of the ovens (blue M model POM-223) used in the SMRD application process not maintaining the set temperature. A technician sent to investigate opened the front panel to perform a visual inspection and upon closing, a mercury switch mounted close to the chassis inside the front panel arced and exploded. | |
