description abstractThis standard contains the minimum requirements for an incident management system to be used by emergency services to manage all emergency incidents.
Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to define and describe the essential elements of an incident management system that meets the requirements of Chapter 8 of NFPA 1500, Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Program; 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(3), "Procedures for handling emergency response"; and Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-5, Management of Domestic Incidents.
