description abstractThis Standard specifies the method for testing the wear characteristics such as wear resistance by abrading (reciprocal motion) the surface of flat and smooth anodic oxidation coating exceeding 5μm in thickness (hereafter referred to as "coatings") applied to the products manufactured from aluminum and aluminum alloys (hereafter referred to as "products") with abrasive paper.
NOTE 1 There are an abrasive-wheel-wear abrasion resistance test, abrasive jet abrasion resistance test and falling sand abrasion resistance test in the test methods. In this Standard, an abrasive-wheel-wear abrasion resistance test method is specified.
NOTE 2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows:
ISO 8251: 2011 Anodizing of aluminium and its alloys-Measurement of abrasion resistance of anodic oxidation coatings (MOD)
The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
