description abstractThis Standard specifies the methods for determination of international rubber hardness degrees (IRHD) of vulcanized or thermoplastic rubbers.
The specified methods in this Standard cover the hardness range from 10 IRHD to 100IRHD. This Standard does not specify a method for the determination of IRHD by an IRHD pocket hardness meter.
NOTE 1 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.
ISO 48: 2010 Rubber, vulcanized or thermoplastic-Determination of hardness (hardness between 10 IRHD and 100 IRHD) (MOD)
In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
NOTE 2 Determination of IRHD pocket hardness is described in JIS K 6253-4 (see literature [1] in Bibliography).
